On July 16, 2009, Dr. John Lee, Professor of Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University and Academic Engineering Fellow with the U.S. SEC 2007–2008, spoke to the Denver Chapter of “SPEE on Modernization of SEC Reporting Rules”.  These U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission rules changes were implemented for all public companies effective with 12/31/2009 reporting.  Dr. Lee served as Academic Engineering Fellow to the SEC from October 2007 to December 2008 during which time he was instrumental in the drafting and adopting of the revised rules by the SEC.  The July Luncheon meeting was well attended by 25 members and 70 guests.  The Denver Chapter of SPEE meets the second Wednesday of the first month of each quarter at the Denver Athletic Club – The New Petroleum Club Room.
