MEETING SCHEDULE

 

The Dallas Chapter normally meets the third Thursday of every other month, September thru May at the Dallas Petroleum Club downtown Dallas at 11:30 am.

 

Individuals who are not members of SPEE are most cordially invited to attend.

Topic - "Current Issues before Congress Which Impact the Oil and Gas Industry "

Speaker - Congressman Joe Barton – Sixth Congressional District of Texas

 

Congressman Barton has been serving the Sixth Congressional District of Texas since 1984 and is currently the top Republican on the House Energy and Commerce Committee which has jurisdiction of a large percentage of our national economic policies. Congressman Barton also serves on the House Republican Steering Committee which coordinates strategic planning for House Republicans.

 

Congressman Barton attended Texas A&M University on a four-year scholarship, and was the Class of '72's Outstanding Industrial Engineering Student. He has a Master's of Science degree from Purdue University, and prior to being elected to Congress he was employed by Ennis Business Forms in Ennis and Crockett, and served as a White House Fellow. Barton and his wife, Terri, have six children and four grandchildren.  They spend most of their time in Arlington and Ennis, Texas.

Speaker - Ken Golden    Senior Energy Advisor - Corporate Planning ExxonMobil Corporation

 

To support continued economic progress for the world's growing population, more energy will be needed.  Meeting higher energy requirements poses many challenges, including boosting efficiency, developing new supplies, and managing environmental risks.  This presentation summarizes ExxonMobil's long term outlook for energy.  The outlook is developed annually and assists ExxonMobil's business planning.  It is shared publicly to help build understanding of the world's energy needs and challenges.
